Hello dear customers.
Steve and I had the pleasure of attending the recent Reddrop Group supplier conference earlier this month, in the beautiful Yarra Valley. It is clear that Michael and Tina, despite the considerable growth of the group, remain committed to strong relationships with staff and suppliers. To walking side by side with staff if necessary, getting their hands dirty to get the job done and overcome obstacles. Stories shared with a great sense of humour. I was reminded of the importance to back one selves even when others don’t, and that there is no ‘I’ in team.
While our participation was only a couple of days, the generosity of time by senior management to their staff for a week of engagement, and suppliers for several days, is to be commended. As many will no doubt understand, getting themselves and staff out of the business, to focus on strategy and growth, is a challenge in all service orientated businesses. But is so essential to enhanced outcomes.
We are seeing lots of engagement in the omni channel sales space, and we continue to focus on improving our solutions in this space. Initiatives are about to be realised, with customers engaged to pilot both the igaShop and Slyp offerings in the coming month.
While the Surefire solution has been integrated to Last Yard for some time and will continue to offer this, we are working with a new ticketing partner Ticket-IT, out of NZ. I believe this will be an important offering to Surefire customers, offering a greater ease of deployment and proven cloud capabilities. More details will come in the next few months once my team complete the initial pilots.
Resourcing continues to be a challenge, as it is no doubt for all businesses. The impact of staff being sick from flu and covid continues to be felt, and we have had a couple of staff leave to pursue other opportunities. This month we have welcomed Charles Soares to our Professional Services team. This is a hire I have been looking to do for some time. Charles has extensive service delivery experience, for which we are already benefiting. He will engage with many of you over the next few months as we continue to focus on delivery and outcomes. We have also welcomed 2 new support staff, Richard and John to the support team this month. A new hire will join the application team in June. So there is significant movement, requiring effort and patience, but the goal and focus being a stronger team as new insights and energy are gained.
