Officeworks brings service closer to the customer with Surefire

Offering everything from office furniture to print and copy, it’s not always possible for Officeworks’ customers to select what they want and simply enter the POS queue. Officeworks needed a solution to serve customers where they were which is why it turned to Surefire.
Surefire’s transaction management platform gives retailers greater control and capability to manage payments and inventory and, for Officeworks, it met the requirement for a robust and easy to use mPOS solution.
Brett Proposch, General Manager of Information Technology at Officeworks, said, “What was great about the Surefire solution is that there was no big capital outlay to get started. The financial model supported the rapid implementation approach.”
The flexibility of the Surefire platform enabled integration with Officeworks’ back-office systems. It was also cost-effective to get started with so Surefire could trial the solution right away.
The Surefire solution was rolled out to all 150 Officeworks stores in July 2015, enabling smarter transaction management.
The benefits include:

  • Ability to serve and checkout customers from anywhere in-store
  • Ability to “queue bust” and serve customers faster in peak periods
  • Reduced staffing costs with team members better equipped to multi-task
mPOS opens up a lot of opportunities, including the flexibility to design stores around the customer rather than the point of sale. It’s an exciting shift for retail.
